Who Am I?
Treatment Philosophy
I am a psychiatrist providing comprehensive psychiatric treatment that integrates psychotherapy and medication management. I provide confidential, patient-centered and holistic mental health care. My treatment philosophy centers around the belief that healing occurs within the context of a compassionate therapeutic relationship between doctor and patient.
Education and Qualifications
I studied Psychology and French and graduated with honors from the University of Iowa. I completed medical school at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. I completed my residency training in Psychiatry at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. I am a licensed psychiatrist in the State of Texas. I am board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Upon completion of my training, I served as Assistant Professor for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Austin at Seton Family of Hospitals for two years before going into private practice. I currently serve as Clinical Assistant Professor (non-principal faculty) with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of the University of Texas A&M Health Sciences Center.
I am actively engaged in the psychotherapy community at the local and national levels. I was honored to be selected as a 2012-2013 Fellow of the American Psychoanalytic Association. I have completed the two year Studies in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy program through the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in Houston, Texas.
